米尔顿凯恩斯提前举行es special anniversary
This week marks the 10th anniversary since the opening of a stunning education and skill-building centre for people with learning disabilities.
Celebrations at MK Snap have included a VIP breakfast and charity dinner and the unveiling of the charity’s first-ever mascot.
The events are supported by PJ Care, Mirus It, Routeco, The Red Thread Partnership, Westfourstreet and Bespoke Support MK Ltd.
The move to MK Snap’s state-of-the-art building in Walnut Tree was the vision of long-term Trustee, Peter Wilson and the biggest milestone in MK Snap’s history.

Today MK Snap offers life changing opportunities to more than sixty people a day. Its facilities include a catering hub, allotment and gardens, sports hall and training rooms offering a skill-building programme to help people with learning disabilities live more independently and participate in the local community.
MK Snap began in an industrial unit in Kiln Farm, supported by Milton Keynes Community Foundation, answering a need from parents who felt there was nowhere suitable for their son or daughter after finishing school.
The demand for places soon meant MK Snap needed a new home and multi-million pound campaign was launched. In October 2008 the dream of a new centre was achieved and opened by The Duchess of Bedford.
Caroline French, head of learner services, remembers: “It was very exciting. We moved into this lovely new building will all its lots of windows and lots of space”.
The building was awarded runner up in the RICS Community Benefit Award for its commitment to value for money and sustainability.
