Stand-up comedianJack Gleadowtalks about how the comedy industry has been hit hard by the pandemic:“Some people live in this job mouth to gig so they’ll go get their money for that Friday or Saturday night and that will literally feed them and their families that week.”

Jack also talks about the importance of the Edinburgh Fringe which is cancelled this year due to the pandemic. “Peoplework year round for the festival and for some companies that is their only income for the year so they would have lost a lot of money from that. “

Finally, the podcast local hero section features an Edinburgh based restaurant providing hot meals for children who would normally receive free school dinners and for those who are homeless. Layla Gassabi ofMaison Bleuehas been working with charities such asCLASP,Street WorksandChildren Firstproviding these services since the start of June.
